On May 16, 2026, my family, along with many others, had the profound privilege of attending the opening of the Legacy National Civil Rights Museum. Seeing my 14 -year-old son, Kevin L. Cooper, featured in The Say Their Names Project at the museum in Memphis, Tennessee, was both deeply moving and a national honor. The Say Their Names Project recognizes hundreds of Black and Brown men and women  whose lives were taken by law enforcement, ensuring that their stories are remembered and that their lives are never forgotten.
